**** no. I've got about 10 days left with Vodafone and I haven't even used half of my 1.25GB data for this month. I'm using HD quality now because it uses almost nothing!

It would be silly to watch it the whole time. It'd be like watching paint dry. I just look at it every 10 or 15 minutes to see that my valuables are still there!

It gives you alerts when the app is closed.

BTW I need to update my firmware sometime (random thought)

doesn't it eat up all your expensive data allocation watching a live stream while you are away from home?

Wyze Camera App Update

So Wyze Camera has just updated their app for Android. No longer do I need to click "enable motion detection" plus "send notifications upon detecting motion". They made shortcuts that can be customised (multiple commands per button).

Now I press only one button -- to enable motion detection + notifications to my phone! Naturally, I still check that the boxes are ticked.

...And when I'm away from home (even for 10 minutes) I'm looking at the live stream, just in case I need to dial 111

The only thing I hold against Wyze is that 1) it's totally proprietary and there is no web browser interface, only Android; and 2) they don't send the correct adapter for New Zealand power points. Might as well buy a tplink or swann I reckon!
