Red Cross volunteer genuine or not

Post by jmitchell » January 17th, 2019, 4:29 pm

Hello Waltham residents, if any of you were home on the 10th, 11th or 12th of January and happened to see two male Red Cross volunteers (or con artists?) please let me know of your interactions.

My neighbour and I thought that the guy was rather odd. He kind-of "talked at you" if you know what I mean. Very loud, energetic voice like a salesman or a guy in a bar boasting about being a former Navy Seal. I talked to him and he claimed that there's a Red Cross office on Moorhouse Ave. I emailed Red Cross and they aren't aware of this.

I'm unsure if they are genuine or not. More information is required.

Everyone I talked to has suggested that it is genuine even if the guy was a bit "off"

Red Cross said that they don't have volunteers in Waltham but they do have paid collectors in Waltham, so the guy's story adds up. A good exercise in checking facts!
